Barack and Michelle Obama celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on Saturday. The pair exchanged loving messages for one another, while also encouraging people to vote during the upcoming elections next month.

In her sweet post on Instagram, the former First Lady wrote: ‘28 years with this one. I love @BarackObama for his smile, his character, and his compassion. So grateful to have him as a partner through everything life throws at us.
‘And this year, we have a request for you-pick one person in your life who might not vote and make sure they do.’ She added.

The former President also took to Instagram to acknowledge the special day by posting a precious photo of the couple deep in laughter. He captioned: ‘Even with everything going on, I wanted to take a moment to say happy anniversary to the love of my life. Everyday with @Michelle Obama makes me a better husband, a better father, and a better human.
Barack, 59, then continued by urging to vote: ‘This year, while we appreciate all your well-wishes, what we’d really love is for each of you to reach out to one person in your life who might not vote. Help them get registered. Help them make a plan to cast their ballot.
‘Happy anniversary, Miche. Love you,’ He concluded.

The former first couple met at a Chicago law firm in 1989 and dated for three years before tying the knot on October 3, 1992. They married at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Speaking of couple goals.
