Actress Dame Diana Rigg, who is well known for her roles in the 1960’s television series along with the Avenger and Game of Thrones (GOT), has died at the age of 82.

The star, 82, has also played a significant role in James Bond’s wife ‘Teresa Di Vincenzo’ in 1969 On Her ‘Majestys Secret Service.’
It was confirmed by her family that Diana Rig was diagnosed with cancer in March, and they also mentioned: “She spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life.”

Simon Beresford, an agent of her released the statement:
“It is with tremendous sadness that we announce that Dame Diana Rigg died peacefully early this morning.”
“She was at home with her family who has asked for privacy at this difficult time. Dame Diana was an icon of theatre, film, and television.”

“She was the recipient of Bafta, Emmy, Tony, and Evening Standard Awards for her work on stage and screen.”
“Dame Diana was a much loved and admired member of her profession, a force of nature who loved her work and her fellow actors. She will be greatly missed.”
Daughter of Dame Diana, Rachael Stirling, says:
“My Beloved Ma died peacefully in her sleep early this morning, at home, surrounded by family. She died of cancer diagnosed in March and spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter, and deep pride in her profession. I will miss her beyond words.”

She was born in 1938 and studied along with her fellow classmates which includes legend Glenda Jackson. Thanks to her hit TV series The Avengers in the 1960s, playing secret agent Emma Peel and she became a household name.
