Facebook With Google, UK To Regulate Them!!!

Facebook with Google – the government of UK said on 27th November, Friday, that it plans by creating a Digital Markets Unit (DMU) and to enforce “a new code to govern the behaviour of platforms that currently dominate the market, such as Google and Facebook.”

To give more control over the personal data to consumer and also to protect the smaller competitors.

Some of the biggest tech companies will have to be much transparent under the use of new code, about their services and also that they use from the consumer’s data.

This may also force the companies for giving a personalized advertising experience according to him and even no restriction to use rival platforms on customer’s, which makes it difficult.

Oliver Dowden, Digital Secretary, gave a statement: “I’m unashamedly pro-tech and the services of digital platforms are positively transforming the economy — bringing huge benefits to businesses, consumers and society.”

“But there is growing consensus in the UK and abroad that the concentration of power among a small number of tech companies is curtailing growth of the sector, reducing innovation and having negative impacts on the people and businesses that rely on them. It’s time to address that and unleash a new age of tech growth.”

Alok Sharma, Business Secretary, said: “Our new, pro-competition regime for digital markets will ensure consumers have choice, and mean smaller firms aren’t pushed out.”

Google wants to “work constructively,” they reacted – with the new regulator.

Then Facebook came out and said – it remains “committed to working with our UK industry partners to find ways to support journalism and help the long-term sustainability of news organizations.”
