The feud between Mariah Carey and Jenifer Lopez has been on for a couple of years now. Its no secret that Mariah, 50, and Jeniffer, 51, aren’t exactly jolly old friends with Mariah pulling the popular “I don’t know her” card which got later got ‘memed’
However, the reason for the subtle shading between the duo had been unclear over the years. Mariah finally revealed the truth about it in her new memoir, “The meaning of Mariah.”
Much of what went wrong with Glitter led back to “Tommy,” Mariah wrote. She described the effort of her husband for the first decade of her career, Tommy Motolla allegedly took to sabotage the success of her movie, Glitter, in which her trace “Loverboy” was scheduled to be released as the first single from the Glitter soundtrack. Carey wrote, “Tommy was furious when I cut the strings he used to manipulate me. There was no way he would allow me to have a huge success after leaving him and Sony. He was not going to let me or Glitter shine.”
Prior to Mariah’s releasing the single, Jennifer and her label sampled the same song Mariah was using and even snagged Ja Rule for J-Lo’s song, “I’m Real.” According to an A7R member in Colombia, Tommy was the one who insisted they use the same sample to get Ja before he officially committed to Mariah. However, JLO reportedly had no knowledge of this.
