Meghan McCain, co-host of the popular American daytime TV show, The View, has welcomed a baby girl with her husband Ben Domenech.
Throughout her pregnancy, Meghan and her husband remained quite secretive about the pregnancy because they didn’t want any negativity around their child. This decision was inspired by the fact that Meghan had, not too long before, received hurtful comments from the public about her father’s death.
However, the couple has confirmed that their child was born on Monday, September 28. And, fans were also excited to hear that the couple decided to reveal the baby’s name.

Meghan and her husband have named their daughter Liberty Sage McCain Domenech. Quite a patriotic name right? Well, this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering her family’s patriotism and love for democracy. Meghan herself is a conservative Republican pundit, her father, John McCain was a senator, and her husband is the co-founder and publisher of The Federalist, a web magazine with politics as one of its main focuses.
The View announced the child’s arrival on twitter with a tweet that said: “we are excited to share the happy news that our @MeghanMcCain and her husband Ben Domenech have welcomed their first child… Congratulations Meghan and Ben!”
People are particularly excited for the couple because Meghan has previously suffered a miscarriage which she confidently opened up about just eight months before she announced her new pregnancy.
We probably shouldn’t be expecting to see any pictures of the baby Liberty soon though, because McCain announced in May, via an Instagram post that she and her husband have made the decision to “guard their growing families privacy as much as possible.”
