A major shock for CBS’ sitcom Mom is about to lose two characters.
Anna Faris will be not returning for the upcoming eighth season, by leaving Alison Janney in the sole lead. This move is damn surprising.
Faris and Janney both are in the middle of the two-year contracts they signed during the winter in 2019 after lengthy negotiations.
Their new deal secured a two-year renewal for the Chuck Lorre comedy through Season 8.
Faris said; the past seven years on Mom have been fulfilling and rewarding of my career.
Anna said, “I am so thankful to Chuck, the writers, and my amazing castmates for this enlightened journey.” While her journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing her to explore new opportunities. Anna was the only choice for Christy’s role; from the inception of Mom, WBTV, CBS.
Chuck Lorre, Prods said in a statement, “We are so proud of the stories we have been able to tell during Anna’s seven years with us. We wish Anna all the best, and we thank her for her beautiful portrayal.”
